With a playoff spot all but out of reach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, their 2018-19 season is scheduled to come to an end on April 9.

With that, so too will the careers of one of the franchise's all-time fan favorites. On Friday, Channing Frye took to Instagram to reveal his plans to retire at season's end.

The 35-year-old Frye's post came a day after the Cavs beat the New York Knicks 125-118. Having begun his career with the Knicks, who selected him out of Arizona with the No. 8 pick of the 2005 NBA Draft, Frye's retirement revelation came in the form of him stating he had played his final game at Madison Square Garden.

"Playing at MSG for the last time last night, had me thinking of how fast time has flown by," Frye wrote alongside a picture of himself with fellow former Knicks first-rounder David Lee and head coach Herb Williams.

Initially acquired by the Cavs in a trade with the Orlando Magic in 2016, Frye has spent parts of each of the past four seasons in Cleveland. After being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers at last season's NBA trade deadline, the 6-foot-11 big man re-signed with the Cavs for a one-year deal the following summer.
